FusionOne Announces European Availability of Handset Transfer Solution and Network Address Book

Leader in mobile content portability services expands presence to serve Europe’s fast-growing need for mobile phone content portability services

San Jose, Calif. - February 17th, 2009

FusionOne, the leading provider of mobile phone content portability services, today announced the availability of its new Handset Transfer Solution and Network Address Book Solutions in Europe.  With the fast growing need for mobile phone content portability services in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region, FusionOne, which has enjoyed successful deployments at many North American carriers including Verizon Wireless, Alltel, Telus, and Bell Mobility, now expands its reach to include European telecom carriers and mobile network operators.

To lead efforts in the region, FusionOne is adding a dedicated European sales operation, led by EMEA Sales Director Jefferson Wright.  Wright possesses more than 20 years of business development and marketing leadership experience in the European telecom, media and software sectors.  The new sales operation complements the company’s office in Tallinn, Estonia, which already handles much of FusionOne’s worldwide engineering and customer support efforts.

“I was attracted to FusionOne by the great team and superb product portfolio for which I see significant opportunity in Europe,” said Wright.  “I am very excited and looking forward to what we will achieve together over the coming months.”

FusionOne’s Handset Transfer Solution is a seamless, comprehensive service that moves all handset content from one handset to another via a desktop location or remotely over the web. With the Handset Transfer Solution, carriers can enable their mobile users who purchase new handsets at a retail store or online to migrate their phone content over the web.  As a result, carriers can drive handset upgrades, build customer loyalty, and maximize subscriber value.  Users benefit from mobile content portability and avoid losing their mobile content when switching from one handset to another.  They can also share their transferred content with popular carrier and internet applications.

The FusionOne Network Address Book centralizes address books across a wide range of communications services, including landline phones, mobile phones, other handheld devices, and Web 2.0 applications.  Network Address Book consolidates these address books into a single globally accessible location that enables users to update all their address books, driving increased customer satisfaction and usability.  Users will be able to access the Network Address Book directly from their mobile phones using applications such as FusionOne’s Mobile Junction.

“There is a tremendous opportunity for mobile content portability services in Europe, and this move further demonstrates our commitment to serve the EMEA Market.  Over the past few years our Estonian Development Center has grown to a point where the majority of FusionOne’s employees live in the EU,” said Mike Mulica, chief executive officer of FusionOne. “We found a great leader in Jefferson and felt like the market timing was right to expand support for a broad-based European market launch. In the coming weeks there will be a lot of attention on how FusionOne’s products are being used by some of the world’s largest service providers. I expect that list to include major European carriers as a result of these investments.”

“With development and now the additional customer-facing support in EMEA, FusionOne is ideally positioned to meet the region’s rapidly evolving need for mobile content portability services,” said Alex Tsarkov, senior vice president of engineering and general manager of FusionOne’s Estonia office.

FusionOne will be demonstrating the Handset Transfer Solution and a Symbian client of Mobile Junction at this year’s 3GSM Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.  FusionOne’s booth will be located at Stand 7D60 in Hall 7.
