FusionOne: Over 1.5 Billion Contacts Served
Leader in Mobile Content Portability Now Has Protected
Over 1.5 Billion Mobile Phone Contacts With Its MightyBackup Contacts Product
San Jose, Calif. - April 1st, 2009
FusionOne, the leading provider of mobile phone content portability services, today announced that its MightyBackup Contacts product has now protected and managed over 1.5 billion mobile phone contacts.
MightyBackup Contacts wirelessly backs up and syncs the address book stored on a user’s mobile phone. When the user replaces their phone, MightyBackup Contacts automatically transfers the address book information to the new phone, ensuring the freedom of mobile content portability for consumers. The affordable service enables online management of the address book and secure protection for the valuable contact information stored on a user’s mobile phone.
Backup Assistant, the Verizon Wireless version of MightyBackup Contacts, has become the top mobile application for Verizon Wireless, and ranks in the top ten across all mobile applications in revenues. Overall, MightyBackup Contacts has been successfully deployed on many carriers worldwide, including Verizon Wireless, TELUS, Bell Mobility, Telstra, and Cellular South.
“This milestone means a lot to us,” said Mike Mulica, chief executive officer of FusionOne. “Not only is it a very significant number, but it confirms our standing as the undisputed leader in mobile content portability services. Increasingly, mobile users are embracing the importance of being able to protect and transfer their mobile content.”
“Mobile phone address books have become the sole source of contact information for many people, so having to manually re-create an entire address book on a new phone is generally quite difficult,” said Perry LaForge, Chairman, CDMA Development Group. “With MightyBackup Contacts, restoring contacts is easy and quick for the user. For carriers, it provides an opportunity to offer a valuable service to their customer base, making the phone upgrade decision easier, and enhances consumer loyalty.”
Built on the robust and patented FusionOne Services Platform, MightyBackup Contacts is supported on over 600 mobile phone models via the Symbian, BREW and Java platforms. It is available through many carrier mobile application stores or as a carrier-branded service, with pricing determined by the carrier.
FusionOne will be demonstrating its latest mobile content portability solutions at the International CTIA Wireless show in Las Vegas from April 1-3 in the Central Hall, booth 6153.
